Preparation is Underway
For our 57th Annual Convention & Trade Show - our theme for 2010 - Spotlight will be on Service.
Providence, May 23-27th is the home of our next convention and things are shaping up for this to be a very exciting event. New venue, new educational opportunities, and some fun events too.
As a Teaser - a little about Education
Chris Mohalley is coming back to teach ECM Teaching and also based upon input from attendees at our many ECM classes held this summer, he'll do an airflow class as well. Good stuff for you who want to deliver comfort to your customers.
Dan Holohan will be doing two sessions - one will be held at 4:00 p.m. - when the show closes for the day. Why sit in traffic when you can relax and learn more about Greening Steam and making Money. Wednesday Dan invites Customer Service Reps, Technicians and Managers to a jam session - share what works in the way of techniques that you use to work with customers and learn from others.
Again we have John Barba, Taco; a session on The Latest in Oilheat Technologies, John Levey; Consensing Technology, Propane and more. So stay tuned for continual news about our event.
The Best of Providence is Coming to Lancaster
Tied with our annual Oilheat Retreat, we are bringing to Lancaster, Thursday, September 9th, a day of education. The classes will be those that our audience in RI think are the best for 2010.
2010 Dues
It is that time of the year when you should have received a NAOHSM invoice for dues.
What benefits does your membership provide? For those of you who care about quality service and knowing what new products are out there, we are one of the best values in the industry. Our mission of education an we aim to deliver that each year. It is up to YOU to take advantage of that benefit. This past year we hosted several classes on ECM Motor Technology, we co-sponsored a Train-the Trainer class with NORA and April 6-8, Plainview NJ we will host another 2-1/2 day Train-the-Trainer lead by Penn State University. This ongoing Train-the-Trainer program kicked off this year by offering trainers a unique ECM Motor Class and this year we’ll offer at least 2 more classes just for those that do local training whether it be at a chapter level or for their company. Our goal is to have consistent materials when it comes to training.
At our annual convention and trade show – we offer many, many educational opportunities and each and every one of them earns NORA CEU’s and many offer NATE CEU’s.
This year too we invested in the future of our industry by writing the Introduction to Oilheating. This book is a primer to the oilheat industry and the audience would typically be a high school student. The book is supported by an instructor’s power point presentation. The goal is to encourage a career vocational teacher whose strength is in plumbing to at least introduce students to oilheat. This book is available on the NORA Website.
