Welcome to OESP

The National Association of Oil and Energy Service Professionals
(Formerly NAOHSM)

OESP’s mission is Education. At most chapter meetings you’ll find the chapters have a speaker included as part of their agenda. Chapters are encouraged to sponsor educational programs throughout the year and National supports that effort with an Educational Subsidy reimbursement program.

At our Annual Convention and Trade Show, our education committee offers various training for both technicians and owners/managers.

PROSMA
National developed a Management Program, PROSMA or Professional Service Managers Academy. This program was designed and delivered by Penn State University. It is an excellent program for lead technicians, supervisors and managers and aspiring managers and owners. To graduate from this program with a Certificate in Service Management from Penn State and NORA, a student needs to complete four (4) core courses and two (2) electives. The program is designed for the busy employee. He or she can enter the program at any time and take as long as they wish to complete. Due to poor attendance this program is in jeopardy. Please review the outlines and see what each class has to offer. Then let us know what you think.

Training Trainers continues to be the focus in 2011. OESP has delivered another Penn State delivered Train-the-Trainer class this year. Anyone that conducts technical training sessions for their employees, teaches at local technical school or college will benefit from this evolving program

Stand-alone Training Classes – the Train-the-Trainer program is evolving into a series of 1-day specific topic programs. 2009 the Year of the ECM Motor and 2011 will be the topic of How to Teach Basic Electricity.

New High School Textbook – OESP volunteers launched the new introductory book, "Introduction to Oilheat"

Annual On-the-Road Seminars – each year we will hit the road with an important industry topic – 2007 the NORA Tank Certification Program, 2008 Customer Service Program, 2009 ECM Motor Technology and this year – Basic Electricity.
