Highlights from NAOHSM’S 53RD Annual Convention & Trade Show
May 14-18, 2006
CT Expo Center, Hartford, CT
The 53rd Annual Convention and Trade Show came and went – just like the flooding waters “up north”. Did we say rain? We wondered if we’d see any sunshine during our event!
It’s All About Education
Again this year, NAOHSM attracted an even larger group of exhibitors, all showing the latest in oil heating equipment, supplies and services. Attendees had ample opportunity for plenty of free education. The standing room only sessons included classes about hydronics, tank management, steam, radiant heating. Managers and Owners too had programs designed just for them – such as Bioheat. Thanks to our sponsors of education, technicians earned NORA CEU’s free of charge.
"Care to Ride"
Some of the new events – the “Care to Ride” event raised over $50,000 for Oil Heat Cares – we really do have some avid bike riders – they rode in the rain and for some the 28 mile course turned into a 39 mile course! Dan Holohan and Judy Garber along with some others backed out of riding and decided to walk instead. We had about 60 people participate in the event. Again thanks to the many sponsors, riders, walkers and supporters.

Three of our seven scholarship winners attended the banquet and were recognized: Shawn Wasielewski, Easton, PA attends PA College of Technology; Visar Djongalic graduates this year from Saunders Technical School, Yonkers, NY; and Mark Hunsicker, Lansdale, PA graduates from North Montco Career Vocational School, and he too will be attending PA College of Technology, Williamsport, PA.
